Life during COVID-19 looks slightly different. While Floridians are observing the statewide stay-at-home order enacted by the Governor, they are also finding creative ways to stay connected with each other. Never before has living in a master-planned, self-sustaining community been more important.

The Ave Maria Master Association, managed by First Service Residential, plans community-wide events throughout the year for residents of Ave Maria. This month, the team got creative and offered safe activities that could be enjoyed by homeowners from the safety of their own homes or while walking and running outside.

The Drive-By Photo Shoot was a hit with residents posing for the camera. Homeowners were invited to set up in their driveways and smile for the camera as the Ave Maria Master Association photographer drove by and captured the quarantine lifestyle. Some homeowners even went so far as to design outdoor vignettes or stage funny scenes. The photos were posted on the Master Association Facebook page where votes were tallied and the winner received a gift from Oil Well Craft Beer, the local brewery and beer bar located in Ave Maria.

A new hide-n-seek scavenger hunt engaged residents while they enjoyed Ave Maria’s miles of outdoor walking and biking trails. A small purple toy named Spirit, is hidden by an Ave Maria Master Association staff member each day in some area of the town. Children especially love looking for Spirit and capturing a photo of the cute creature.

Another fun activity will be the upcoming Ave Maria Chalk the Walk beginning April 13. Homeowners will brighten up their neighborhoods by decorating sidewalks using sidewalk chalk. The local Ave General Store sells the chalk and is offering free delivery with orders over $5.  The theme, April Goodness, is hoped to inspire positive messages and images. Artists will submit a photo of their artwork to the Master Association to share on the group Facebook page.

The Ave Maria Master Association as a part of First Service Residential, is also able to provide virtual wellness classes and lifelong learning seminars, giving residents complimentary access to these resources to enjoy while at home.
