Ave Maria Stewardship Community District Enhances Traffic Flow with Upcoming Additions

As Ave Maria continues to grow, improvements to local infrastructure are keeping pace—most notably at a busy intersection that will soon undergo a major transformation aimed at enhancing both safety and traffic efficiency.

Currently, traffic is manageable during the school year and in season peak, but a new roundabout is set to replace the current three-way stop at the intersection of Pope John Paul II Boulevard and Anthem Parkway. This key upgrade comes as part of a broader effort by the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District (AMSCD) to streamline traffic flow and prepare for the future needs of the expanding town.

Allyson Holland, district manager of the Ave Maria Stewardship Community District, leads her team in improving infrastructure and ensuring safety during construction.

Leading this initiative is AMSCD District Manager Allyson Holland, who brings over two decades of experience in engineering and utility project management. Since her appointment, Holland has focused on advancing infrastructure that supports the town’s rapid growth.

“The intersection is being converted to a roundabout to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and maintain continuity at intersections along Anthem Parkway,” said Holland. “There are already three roundabouts on Anthem Parkway south of this point, and they’ve proven to be effective and safer than traditional stop signs.”

This new roundabout is part of a long-planned initiative to improve traffic flow across Ave Maria, particularly as Anthem Parkway becomes an increasingly vital corridor. “This conversion has been planned for several years,” she noted. “We’re excited to begin and know the outcome will greatly benefit the community.”

While construction is underway, drivers are encouraged to use caution and consider alternate routes when possible. “Ave Maria Boulevard is a good alternative for entering and exiting town during this time,” Holland said. Although the intersection will remain open for necessary use, safety remains a top priority. Drivers are urged to be aware of construction workers and utility vehicles throughout the area.

The roundabout project will coincide with the extension of Anthem Parkway to Ave Maria Boulevard near North Park—another step in connecting key parts of the community.

In the meantime, town officials and the AMSCD team will continue to provide updates to residents and visitors. Holland is confident the short-term inconvenience will lead to long-term gains. “This project is about more than just roads. It’s about building a safer, more efficient future for everyone who calls Ave Maria home,” she said.
