Its Fall in Ave Maria

October is filled with spooky and fun activities throughout the month for our residents and visitors. To start off the month residents enjoyed one of Ave Maria’s signature monthly events, First Friday Fun, at Oil Well Craft Beer with lawn games, live music, and cold craft beer. Oil Well Craft Beer was busy this month hosting the charity event, Boozin for Boobs, as well as Bingo Night and Brew & Paint. They finish October with a Halloween Party for ages 21 and up on October 20 and a Wine Tasting event on October 23, which are both opened to the public, and a Trunk or Treat on October 27.

Del Webb Naples, Collier County’s only Del Webb active-adult community, is its own little community inside of our small town and their lifestyle director keeps the fun going all month with events and activities exclusive to Del Webb residents. They are looking forward to the Fall Festival and Halloween Party on October 26 and October 27. Lots of “boos” and wicked fun for sure!

Ave Maria University continue their fall sports season with soccer and football throughout the month. Come join the action on October 27 when the AMU women’s soccer team takes on South Eastern University and the AMU football team takes on Keiser University. Spending a Saturday in Ave Maria enjoying restaurants in the Town Center followed by a coallegiate sports match is a great fall weekend activity for both residents and visitors.

All Ave Maria residents are looking forward to the Fall Festival on October 27. There will be music, games, hay rides, food trucks and more! Residents will also be able to compete in the Pie Baking and Scarecrow Making contests. It’s a great place to live and play! Ready…Set…Labor Day!

With Labor Day right around the corner we thought we would share what’s happening in Ave Maria. Labor Day traditionally marks the end of summer, but we are fortunate to enjoy warm sunshine and tropical weather year-round in our Southwest Florida location.

Residents here kick off the long weekend with a Beach Walk and Breakfast for anyone living in Del Webb Naples neighborhood. Afternoons and evenings can be spent at happy hour at the Ave Maria Pub & Grill located in the Town Center or with homemade pizza and pasta specials at Gino’s Trattoria.

Spending Saturday and Sunday in one of the on-site parks in Ave Maria tires out the little ones and certainly logs steps on the fitness tracker for mom and dad. A friendly competition between friends on the baseball field in North Park is a great way to meet residents from other neighborhoods within Ave Maria. Parents gather at the tot lot playground and soccer fields at North Park too. What better way to enjoy a holiday weekend than at your very own water park! A resident only Pre-Labor Day Celebration at the Ave Maria Water Park will be held Saturday, September 1st from 11am to 2pm with live deejay, food specials, and activities. University students in Ave Maria can attend the Ave Maria University Gyrenes women’s soccer team match against Trinity Baptist at 3pm on Saturday, September 1st.

Our very own Del Webb Naples’s lifestyle director has planned a S’more Fun Labor Day party on Monday at 5:30pm while the Rusty Putter restaurant at Panther Run Golf Club will host a Labor Day BBQ. Living in a Del Webb community has perks and benefits encouraging active adults to engage socially and physically. Whether it’s a yoga or water aerobics class or themed dinner and dance, there is always something to do at Del Webb Naples. Staying young both in body and mind is evident when you live in our Southwest Florida Del Webb Naples neighborhood.

The popularity of craft beer has certainly made its way to Ave Maria. Oil Well Craft Beer, located in the Park of Commerce, will feature open mic night on Friday, August 31 at 8pm and Naples Smoked BBQ from 6-9pm. The Ave Maria Pub & Grill also serves a wide variety of craft beer as well as delicious burgers, pizzas and salads.

With Ave Maria only 40 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Naples and just 70 miles from the hustle and bustle of Ft Lauderdale, a quick road trip is also a fun possibility for Labor Day weekend. Living in Ave Maria certainly has its benefits. Stop by our New Home & Welcome Center to learn more about the area’s most talked about new home town.

Back to School in Ave Maria

Summer is coming to an end and school is starting in Naples, Florida, home to Collier County Public School District ranked third in the state of Florida. From elementary students to college students, school-aged children living in Ave Maria are ready for an exciting, successful year. Children living in Ave Maria either attend Collier County Public Schools or private schools nearby. Palmetto Ridge High, Corkscrew Middle, and Estates Elementary School are three public school options, which are all just 20 minutes away. Rhodora J. Donahue Academy, Ave Maria International School, and Ave Maria University are three private school options that are located right in town, making a quick bike ride to school an enjoyable morning and afternoon commute. Donahue Academy is one of the four K-12th private schools in Southwest Florida and is known for its outstanding college preparations. Many of the Ave Maria residents attend this school, and since Ave Maria is such a family-friendly town, mostly all the students know each other and are great friends. After school activities in Ave Maria include the swim team, Ave Maria Dance Academy, soccer and baseball teams, and more.

This week is filled with back-to-school events including a waterpark party for the Donahue Academy students this Saturday and a back-to-school concert for the AMU students on September 1st. Once the children are off to school, the residents of Ave Maria are busy with many events happening this month. Homeowners here can take part in ladies and men’s golf days and summer nights karaoke. For more events check out our website.

As schools and students are getting the ball rolling with academics, they are doing the same with athletics. There are five home sporting events between Donahue Academy and AMU in the next two weeks. Donahue Academy hosts their first high school football game next Friday August 24 and a varsity volleyball game on August 30. Ave Maria University has a men’s soccer game this Saturday August 18 and its first football of the season on Saturday August 25 vs. Point University from West Point, Georgia. With all this fun coming up, make sure everyone’s thinking caps are on for a new year filled with success.
